Hi, I'm Pastor Dale Golden and I greet you in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Each week I hope to encourage and inspire you with a message of hope.
Why should I read the Psalms?
People living in this century tend to live more in the New Testament, and in fact, many people claim to only read the New Testament. I have heard some people even say that the Old Testament is no longer relevant to the modern Christian. I believe this could not be further from the truth. We, as 21st century Christians, have a lens called the New Testament in order to view the ancient texts, which gives us better understand of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Old Testament and especially the Psalms are the blueprints for our lives and the Gospel of Jesus Christ shows us how to live out the faith of the saints.
“The book of Psalms presents nothing short of God’s claim upon the whole world and that it articulates God’s will for justice, righteousness, and peace among all peoples and all nations.” While we continue to change in this new world, we need the wisdom and compassion of the Psalms. The last Sunday of April I started a new series on the Psalms which will include all of May. What is the good news of God’s abiding love for transitioning people? Please come on Sunday morning to worship and grasp nuggets of love,encouragement and hope. Be God’s grace as our lives are transformed together!
